SureHire explains Bodywork
The purpose of bodywork is to rectify any problems that exist in the posture, muscles, or fascia (connective tissue) by using techniques that relax and stretch the tissue surrounding the muscles. Treatment is aimed at minimizing pain and discomfort, improving energy levels and improved ease of movement. Bodywork typically consists of two phases. These are a passive phase where the patient receives postural correction or deep-tissue manipulation, and an active phase where the patient is given instruction on movement efficiency. Some examples of bodywork therapies include the Feldenkrais Method, Rolfing, Shiatsu, and Trigger Point Therapy.
