Acupuncture is a form of alternative medicine deriving from traditional Chinese medicine that involves the insertion of needles into the body of a patient at specific points. Acupuncture is also used through the application of heat, pressure, and laser light. It is generally used as a method of pain relief but is also applied to various other conditions.
